I am an American English teacher who lived in Indonesia for over 22 years, mostly on Sumatra: Lhokseumawe, Banda Aceh, Medan, Bangka and Lampung, with a brief time in Yogya in 2001 because of the civil unrest in Aceh at the time. I have published books in America about my life in Indonesia, but I wanted my Indonesian friends to have some of the stories in their language, too.
